Keep in mind that with every cut, 100% of the hair is removed.

Other grooming shears

In addition to a straight grooming shear, you also have other types of shears, each with its specific purpose.

Curved grooming shear: Ideal for cutting curves. A curved grooming shear, like the straight grooming shear, often has two equal cutting blades. The curved shape makes it easier to cut beautiful curves.
Single thinning shear: A single thinning shear has teeth on one side and removes approximately 30% of the coat per cut. In professional terms, this is also called a blending shear and is ideal for tidying up a clipped coat or for making transitions look smoother.
Double thinning shear: A double thinning shear, also called texturizing shear, has teeth on both sides and is used for thinning out a coat. Per cut, you remove approximately 10% of the coat. Ideal when you want to thin the coat, for example, on the neck. Insert the shears into the coat and make smooth, even cutting movements. Then comb out the loose hair. You will see that the coat becomes thinner but is not cut away.
Chunker shear: A chunker shear is very similar to a single thinning shear. It also has teeth on one side. However, these teeth are much wider. A chunker removes approximately 80-90% per movement. Ideal if you are less confident with a normal straight shear. A chunker is also ideal for finishing a coat and cutting more beautiful transitions. The result remains more natural with fewer straight lines than with a normal grooming shear.
